The results of six months studying Barley Wine ageing have been brewed into this dark, red Burgundy barrel aged winter warmer. Made to drink now or to age for many years. Floor malted Maris Otter and extra dark crystal malts add richness and dried fruit flavours.
A mountain of whole leaf English hops in the boil followed by extended ageing in oak impart the preservative and antioxidant compounds that both prevent staling, as well as promoting the development of unique novel flavours which will emerge over the years.
STYLE:The king of stouts, boasting high alcohol by volumes and plenty of malt character. Low to moderate levels of carbonation with huge roasted, chocolate and burnt malt flavours. Suggestions of dark fruit and flavors of higher alcohols are quite evident. Hop character can vary from none, to balanced to aggressive.
